Replacing the rear hatch skin

First  .. you'll have to disconnect the harness and pass it threw the bottom of the 1/4 panel , then you can unbolt the gate .. be sure to presoak the bolts with penetrating fluid .

Once the door is off and on a stable work surface , you can begin to remove the outer skin with a grinder . 3 edges L & R sides and lower edge can be ground off .. just until the seam  "pops"   . work your way on all 3 corners , and then on the top you'll need to drill a spot weld .  finally , un-doing 1electrical plug , the skin can be removed  The new fiberglass skin is ready for install   laying the new skin in place (to check fitment) .

Depending on the bonding product you choose  , and we recommend *3M panel bonder , you'll want to scuff the panel  and drill holes and cutouts before installation ..  once that is done , your ready to glue   , let dry according to instructions , and install   Paint , and your done.
